” Art Deco Mermaid by Heier “ …. Life Magazine Cover [June 5, 1931] … Sailor Gil Collection
*** A Note — This image, being my 3,000th post on Tumblr, was scanned from the original and posted by me on Sep 11, 2011 … My image was subsequently confiscated by another person here on Tumblr for her Vintage Tag collection … The rusty staples and the two white spots (due to paper loss) are on the magazine in my collection … This time, I have made some color correction to the original scan to brighten it up, a bit … This particular Mermaid image is one of my personal favorites in my whole collection !!
My original post is here: http://sailorgil.tumblr.com/post/10092917010/cover-life-magazine-june-5-1931-artist
*** A Postscript — To those concerned, just know that this person knows who she is and knows what she did, even though she denied it to me … Most other re-blogs came from her posting, since she has many hundreds of followers and at the time, I only had a handful of followers … Also, I do say, “Thank You” to those that have made corrections to their own posting of this image.

A prototype mermaid, for a possible project. I like the over all style, but I need to revamp the look of the mermaid herself, I think.

I thought I was done with mermaids for the time being, but I guess not. I keep remembering what Neil Gaiman said about angels: they keep crawling back into his writing, like cockroaches.
